WE MEET for worship from September to the end of June (at 11:00 a.m.) in our Sanctuary located right at the corner of Upper James & Stone Church Road West.

A PLACE where you can come in, sit down, and be comfortable. Everyone is encouraged to take part in worship through drama, ushering and lay readings, as they feel comfortable.

WE WELCOME inquiries about weddings and baptisms from all who seek out God as the centre of these occasions by contacting our Ministry Personnel through our church office.

OUR SERVICES offer something for everyone young and old. Our choir tends to be small in numbers but our music director makes them powerful with their presentations.

OUR OFFICE HOURS are Tues / Wed / Thurs from 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.

WE PROVIDE a NURSERY for children and toddlers - located in the Church Building.

FELLOWSHIP is provided after Worship (with coffee) for those who would like to stay & visit.

A plaque has been installed by the City of Hamilton, designating Barton Stone-Mount Hope United,as a Historical Building under the Ontario Heritage Act. The plaque can be viewed on the left-hand side of the door on Upper James St.

On June 21, 2015 the congregation of Barton Stone United passed the following motion.

Following the path of our church ancestors who expressed their faith in God by seeking justice through continually exploring ways to make Barton Stone-Mount Hope United Church a safe space for everyone, we wish to state publicly that we will provide a safe, nurturing environment for one and for all regardless of: gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, race, nationality, culture, socio-economic status, mental ability and physical ability.
With the help of the Holy Spirit we will live out this ministry by
  1. continuing to discover what it means to be an inclusive community
  2. reaching out to others to communicate that we are a safe place
  3. offering symbols of welcome in prominent locations
  4. treating all with respect
  5. engaging in conversation with other churches that are discussing issues of inclusion.
We will do this so “That All May Be One.”
